Sometimes a tried-and-true route is the best path to take, and The Fifth's combination of comfort food and classic cocktails doesn't argue that point. Though their chic nightclub setting throws in an experimental element, and the resulting experience is refreshing, much like one of The Fifth's expertly-mixed elixirs.
Within the crisp-white club-like setting, neon purple lights illuminate the bartenders as they mix an endless selection of drinks for guests lounging at the onyx-topped bar. Throughout the week, they tempt guests with a slew of themed drink specials and visions of pink elephants doing the jitterbug to the latest club hits.
To soak up the results of any excessive merriment, chef Kelsey Freeborn sizzles up feasts of grilled haas avocados, flatbreads covered in blue cheese and red onion, or surf-and-turf burgers topped pineapple chutney. His fried chicken and waffles, sprinkled in candied bacon and creme anglaise, cause salty and sweet flavors to mingle, and his decadent brunch menu comforts bellies with shrimp 'n' grits and grand marnier french toast.
