Isatis, forsythia, and echinacea are herbs that Dr. Christopher Trahan, Doctor of Oriental Medicine (O.M.D.), prescribes to treat many illnesses–herbs that have been used for centuries to treat a wide range of ailments. At the Olympus Center, the doctor oversees a full pharmacy of both Western and Asian botanicals. His extensive training—which took him to Sri Lanka, India, China, and across the United States— enables him to draw upon it effectively. He prescribes customized herbal regimens for patients after detailed consultations, in the form of concentrated powdered extracts, pills, liquid tinctures and homeopathic remedies.
As a Holistic Integrative Medicine physician, Dr. Trahan's utilizes an extensive combination of therapies, including homeopathy, nutritional guidance, and physiotherapies such as massage in addition to his herbal remedies and acupuncture. Dr. Trahan has served on the faculty of both the International Institute of Chinese Medicine and the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, espoused the benefits of holistic natural medicine during numerous TV and radio appearances, and has written a number of published articles, whose topics include Traditional Chinese Medicine, Women's Health, and Integrative Medicine.
