The deal was no deal. The menu changed since the last time we were there and now it is an al-a-carte menu for lunch. the menu items used to be complete with sides, etc. and now they are extra. Items on the menu run $7 to $8 typically and the deal cost $16 for lunch for 2. The lunch cost us more than ordering right off the menu. The deal was supposed to be worth up to $33 but the most expensive thing on their new lunch menu is $11. The deal is a rip off. I have been there many time and wasn't that impressed. Now with this deal it provied to me that they are not cusotmer focused. Won't be back and will tell everyone I know that there are better valued places that care about their cusotmers within a few blocks of the Old Pro. Won't be back.

Pricey and did not give "advertised" deals because a "game" was on. Paid $16 for pitchers of beer rather than the advertised $7. Ouch!

Great service, although the back up server got the orders mixed up for my two guests. Using Groupon, I got the BEST deal!

Food is a bit overpriced. Would love to see a gluten-free beer available.

It's a sports bar. I think it's booming at night with MAYBE 21 year old (fake ID) crowd. I thought I'd give lunch a try. My guest and I were the ONLY ladies in the place and it was obvious that no one (the staff) wanted to help the "chicks". I was seriously concerned that my food would come out spit on or something worse... What??? I'm pretty sure gals tip better than men...

I am sure this is a fun place to hang out with a large group of friends and watch a sports game but not the ideal date spot. I took my husband out to lunch, I guess I wanted some private time.

From Our Editors

The Old Pro’s kitchen team has taken on an endeavor that most culinary artists are too afraid to attempt: making tater tots better. The menu dedicates an entire section to the deliciously deep-fried, grated potatoes, introducing mouths to six variants including bacon blue tots, truffle-and-parmesan tots, and Tot-chos—tots with nacho fixings. These crispy bites are just the beginning of Old Pro’s souped-up pub food, which reinvents popular staples by topping brawny burgers with brisket and infusing Red Sangria with blackberries and fresh rosemary. The hand-tossed brick-oven pizzas also earn a place in stomachs' hearts with toppings such as housemade sausage and truffle oil.

The sports bar’s inventive culinary approach has earned it a five-year run as Palo Alto Weekly's Best Sports Bar from 2007 to 2012, and its neighborly atmosphere has made it an ideal setting for palling around with buddies. Inside, lofty ceilings and long tables allow ample space for socializing and dramatic three-point landings off the bar’s mechanical bull. Mounted displays pay homage to a long list of teams and athletes, and 13 high-definition plasma-screen televisions broadcast sporting events in real time. To cut down on waste produced by bottles, labels, and corks, The Old Pro’s bartenders serve both draft beers and California wines straight from the tap.
