Fleets of houseboats anchor in harbors across the United States, swaying on the vast, undulating, saltwater lawns that make up their nautical neighborhoods. Featured in such news outlets as the Boston Globe and NPR, SleepAfloat oversees an armada of rental boats in which guests can set their bags down and relax on sofas, prepare dinner in full-sized kitchens, and plot good-natured mutinies while sitting amid sunny dining sets. Outside the high-ceilinged cabins, many of the vessels also feature open decks with patio furniture and picket fences that keep young porpoises from trespassing to retrieve their lost frisbees. After watching the sun set over the water, guests can slip into comfortable beds, awaking whenever the sun returns behind the stained-glass windows.
