For someone with a hungry stomach, it can be exhilarating to pull up a stool to the sushi bar inside Akio Sushi. A spread of lobster, tuna, and other fresh seafood sits on ice behind the glass display cases—that is, until they're needed by the practiced chefs. In full view of onlookers, these chefs slice up sashimi and other specialties, such as the bamboo roll with spicy yellowtail, scallion, and sliced avocado.
Whether at the sushi bar or one of the nearby tables, diners will probably notice the teapots and related accessories on the shelves. These denote another Akio specialty: freshly brewed loose leaf tea, which complements the sushi, cooked Japanese entrees, and sugar packets you would have otherwise eaten plain.
