Why would a business feel the need to put "The purchaser takes full responsibility for attorney's fees and court costs should it become necessary to sue for payment of this invoice" on an invoice? Just saying. Buyer beware.

Buyer beware! Do your own research on this company. If I could give this less stars I would. Here are the facts... I already had a FREE estimate by a reputable, licensed plumber which included $11 for a supply line, $20 for seals, and what seemed like a high hourly labor rate for the work, so I had hoped to save a little money with this Groupon for Tritan Plumbing in Plainfield. I googled around, saw mixed reviews, but decided to give them a chance. I figured the $129 Groupon would cover the $99 trip charge, and I'd still have $30 left to go toward the repairs. Every 30 seconds the owner asked me for my credit card to cover "incidentals" which dictionary.com defines as incurred casually and in addition to the regular or main amount: incidental expenses. In my initial research on the company, they were asked, "Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here". The answer, "Everything is Flat rate Up Front pricing. We give you a price before we get started with any work. (Flat rate price is so you will know the final price so you don't get a surprise bill at the end of the job. Also if you need multiple plumbing repairs when we are at your home you will save money!)" The plumber who came gave me his estimate... $1900 to repair the toilet and cut out some drywall. Add $500 if I want to replace the toilet. They were aware I was looking for affordable solutions, yet didn’t even suggest doing something with the toilet only, and perhaps consider the option of having a maid try to clean the mold. Needless to say, I told them I had to think about it, and promptly received an email with a receipt for a "custom amount" from Tritan Plumbing LLC via Square for $99 that was billed to my credit card without my authorization. This was in addition to my $129 of plumbing services Groupon being marked as redeemed. All for a visit of less than 3 minutes. Something tells me I'm not the first, and won't be the last. Here is an excerpt from that emailed receipt: Return Policy: No returns/refunds/cancellation sign at the point of sale is not sufficient notice of Tritan Plumbing LLC business’s policies. If you give us permission to charge an amount to your credit card in person or over the phone do to Landlord/Tenant situations or if you are paying for services at a property and supply us with the ok to charge your credit card this applies to you also No returns/refunds/cancellation sign at the point of sale is not sufficient notice of Tritan Plumbing LLC business’s policies. If you do challenge our credit card transaction for any amount you will have to pay 10% of the total everyday that we have to wait for the funds to be deposited back into our bank account. Tritan Plumbing LLC business’s policies are 10% daily charge. For completeness, I googled "loan sharks". I learned they lend money at interest rates of 10-20% per week - 10% per week is 14,200% annualized (but a mere 520% APR). I'm not saying Tritan Plumbing are loan sharks... just curious what 10% per day would make them if they were in the finance industry. In the end, I went with the original plumber, added a few more parts and a little more labor and received a bill for $326.50. They took no cash up front, and were going to mail me a bill that I could pay at my convenience. Instead, I had them text me a picture to my phone so I could send them a check that day.
