The Hampton Roads area is rightfully known for its seafood—after all, its busy harbor is linked to several rivers, as well as Chesapeake Bay, which flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Fortunately, Quarterdeck Seafood Bar & Neighborhood Grill lets diners revel the bounty of the surrounding waters with a menu of casual, unpretentious dishes made with fresh-from-the-sea ingredients.
Perhaps the best way to sample the area's finest catches is to order the seafood platter. It features a housemade crab cake, shrimp, scallops, oysters, and broiled or lightly fried flounder. Elsewhere on the menu, guests will find flash-fried clam strips, shrimp and grits, she-crab soup, and a hulking crab-stuffed baked potato with cheese. Turf lovers, meanwhile, can dine on marinated prime rib or a grilled pork chop with country-style green beans.
