Crepes were rubbery and they were out of a lot of toppings. The fries are cut too thick and are not crispy. The aioli was really salty.

The food was bad enough I threw most of it away. The crepes were tough, chewy, and flavorless. I also purchased a liege waffle and that was also chewy. The service wasn't very good. I asked for my food to go, but they forgot. Then the girl acted annoyed when I asked for a bag. The soda machine had problems; when I let go of the button, it just kept going for about a minute.

Your staff was so much fun and so helpful, I would go back just for them. The food was amazing though, such a cool idea!

I've been three times, and every time they were out of at least one major menu item. The crepes are good if you can cobble together something edible, though.

From Our Editors

Long before their doors open, chefs at The Awful Waffle start preparing another day’s worth of fresh batter and dough to fry in the kitchen’s hot griddles. They pile their waffles with fresh, not frozen, toppings, including fresh fruit, ice cream, and elegant puffs of handmade vanilla whipped cream. They can also craft crepe bases from circles of warm, flaky dough, and sprinkle specialty waffles in crushed graham crackers and Oreos. A savory menu of waffles and fries accommodates clients who never got their sweet teeth back from the tooth fairy, despite all their calls and letters.
