Absolutely fantastic show well thought-out very entertaining will have you laughing and singing along with the show. Female bathroom attendant is absolutely hilarious she could very well be the next stand up comedian. Recommended for all ages

Gobsmacked is a fairly good acapella ensemble. Unfortunately they are often off pitch and a bit out of sync. Still, they are passionate about trying to put on a good show and for that I am giving them 3 stars. The lead is clearly in his role for Beatbox and is the best I've ever seen. He has a mastery of his art. I know they travel as a troupe, but if he had his own one-man show, it would be stellar. Finally they need to run better sound checks and work on balancing out the quality of the sound in the room. It was a poor audio mix and that's a shame.

I have been going to Count Basie all my life (since I was a kid) when it was still an actual movie theatre, and have seen it go thru so many positive changes over the years and am looking forward to the next new upcoming phase. It is a great hometown venue, always a great variety of events for everyone and look forward to continuing my patronage.

I've recently gone to see a movie here and it's a nice experience to see a movie in a beautiful theater. Concerts at this location however are 'hit or miss' depending upon where you sit and the acoustics.

From Our Editors

Upon entering the historic theater at the Count Basie Center for the Arts, guests may feel as though they’ve slipped through a crack in time and ended up in the early 1900s. Opulent marble staircases and gold details grab the eyes of visitors, recalling the decadence of Hollywood’s history and gently pulling them to the auditorium. There, the acoustically pleasing construction wins out as sound spreads and funnels through a sunburst dome embellished with a dangling chandelier. Since opening in 1926, the Basie Center has earned numerous accolades, including a nod from Pollstar magazine, which listed it as one of the Top 100 Worldwide Theatre Venues.
