When I am not at school or work I enjoy playing volleyball, staying active, and reading. Although I am not super creative, I still love scrapbooking and learning from the amazing women at Scrapbook Paradise!
Teacher, Cheryl Lyman
Hi, my name is Cheryl Lyman. I moved to Reno in 2004. My husband, Chris, and I have been married for 42 years and have three children (Stephanie, Cassandra, and Ken) and one grandaughter, Taylor. Taylor has taken up the Kreative Kids class and am just thrilled that she has followed in my footsteps as a crafter. I started cardmaking and crafts in 1990. Teacher, Cindy Rhew
Greetings scrappy friends! My name is Cindy Rhew, and I just recently moved to Reno from a teeny, tiny town in California called Hayfork, and I’m loving it! So much to do and see and the people who live in this community are fantastic! For 32 years I have been married to the love of my life, and we have a son we are very proud of and 2 beautiful Grand daughters, who also live here in Reno. I’ve been scrapbooking for about 6 years now, with an emphasis on card making, and to be honest, I’m totally obsessed! It truly is addicting, and I have no need for a 12 step program thank you very much!! I’m really excited about all the fun we are going to get up to together here at Scrapbook Paradise, and can’t wait to meet you! Happy Scrapping!
Teacher, Isa Lawton
My name is Isa Lawton. I was born, raised and educated in France. I’m a retired shop owner where I taught knitting for many years and won national acclaim for some of my sweater designs including being published in knitting magazines. I have since taught a variety of crafts classes, including card making, most recently in Virginia City at the St. Mary’s Art center. Card making is my latest passion and I love sharing and teaching my ideas.
Teacher, Kim Goodsell
Hi, my name is Kim. I am originally from Mt. Shasta, California. I have been married for 33 years and we have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. We have lived in Spanish Springs for 20 years. I’ve been a lifeguard, dental assistant, daycare provider, floral designer, bank teller, optometrist receptionist, Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, and a scrapbooing teacher. I have been published in the magazine, “The Card Maker”, and have had cards displayed on the Stampin’ Up! display boards. Two of our children have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy so they are my full time job. Preserving family memories is important to me, and scrapbooking has become my favorite way to do that. While life can be challenging at times, I’ve learned that most of my joy, peace, and happiness can be found in the simple things of life; and that everyday there is something to be grateful for. Pictures and scrapbooking are a great way to share our lives with others, and in my class I try to help others share their life stories through family pages.
Teacher, Lisa Wooden
Hi, my name is Lisa Wooden. You will usually find me with me face buried into my computer. I love Silhouette. I own the original machine, the SD and now the Cameo. (Yes, my husband knows,) I love exploring the endless possibilities that my machines offer and I hope to share them with you. We all miss Julie Ort terribly. Julie taught the classes previously and with her departure she left some BIG shoes to fill. I hope that I can make her proud. I am humbled to be accepted in to the Scrapbook Paradise Family. I look forward to spending time with you and sharing information so that you can get the most out of your machine.
Teacher, Mandee Mattioli
Teacher, Monica Washington
Hi, my name is Monica Washington and I am honored to be a part of Scrapbook Paradise’s team of creative teachers. I am a proud mommy of two boys and a wife to a wonderful husband. I am fortunate to have a career where I spend my day watching the love of learning spark and continue to grow in my 2nd grade students. In 1997 I was officially introduced to scrapbooking and instantly became a scrapaholic! Looking back, though, I realize that I have enjoyed taking photographs and documenting memories since I was in middle school. In 2006 I ventured into teaching scrapbooking classes and have loved it ever since. I enjoy the creative outlet scrapbooking provides while preserving the memories of family and friends. I also cherish all the wonderful people, many of whom I now call friends, that I have met on this creative journey. It is always fun for me to look back and see how my style and techniques have changed over the years but one thing remains the same-my passion for scrapbooking!
Teacher, Sharon Caudle
Hi, my name is Sharon Caudle, and I am addicted to Copics and card making. *smile* I am married to my soul mate, Randy, and we share five wonderful children and four glorious grandsons. During the day, I’m the office manager for a regional trucking company that is based in the northwest. And at night, you will usually find me sitting at my craft area, many times with a grandson on my lap. :0) I can’t even remember exactly when I started making cards, but I love that it enables me to share a little piece of myself with friends and family, near or far. I discovered Copic markers in 2007 and haven’t looked back! I am extremely honored and happy to be teaching Copic classes at Scrapbook Paradise. It is my hope to pass on my enthusiasm, knowledge, and love for these markers to all. HUGS!!!
Teacher, Sheri McLaughlin
Hi, my name is Sheri McLaughlin. I have been scrapbooking and teaching classes since the age of 19 when I got a job in Southern California at “Back Door Friends” while attending college. My love for scrapbooking only grew when I entered a layout into Creating Keepsakes magazine(that Spring) and got published!! While in L.A., I attended many large crafting trade shows-taking classes and working to master new techiques from the best in the industry. After getting married and moving to Reno, I worked and taught at many stores in the area. I have met so many wonderful people and friends who share my passion for scrapbooking. I am thrilled to continue teaching classes at Scrapbook Paradise while being a stay-at-home Mom to my two favorite subjects. To me, scrapbooking is not only a hobby, but a way t0 remember and preserve the history I want to share with future generations.
Teacher, Stacey Blasi
Hi!!! My name is Stacey Blasi. I grew up in Southern California and was a typical beach bum. When I was 20 I moved with my parents to Northern California. While there, I met and married my husband with whom I have 3 great kids, who usually visit the store whenever I’m there. We moved to Reno in 1993 and we’ve never looked back. I have been fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom and enjoy my scrapbooking addiction which started in 2006. I was very excited when Laura asked me to start teaching in May 2011 and have loved it ever since. When I’m not teaching you will usually find me cropping all day at Scrapbook Paradise on Tuesdays with my fellow Scrapaholics. I teach the Monthly Die Cut Club, Seasonal Tag Classes, and occasionally Mini Book Classes.
Teacher, Sue Brimhall
Hi, my name is Sue and I’m a scrapaholic. It has been 1 day since my last crop. I’ve found that there is lots of 12×12 paper, but no 12 step recovery program. Besides scrapbooking and cardmaking, I enjoy teabag folding, 3D decopauge, quilling, pergamano iris folding, and origami – basically, anything to do with paper. I teach Cricut classes, the Cricut Crops, Cardmaking classes, Specialty Classes, and at least 7 crops a month. Stop by and I’ll help feed your addiction!
