This restaurant pulled a scam by offering a 7 course tasting menu. It was not a 7 course. It was more like 7 pieces of food. The two of us had ... course #1: a regular small bowl of soup each, #2: share a fist size mango salad between us, #3: a small shrimp roll each, #4: a small fried dumpling each, #5: share a 3/4 lb. lobster, #6: share a fist size fried rice, #7: share a fist size dessert. We walked out mad and hungry. This place rip people off. Do not go there. They are also call Hakka No. 1 restaurant. Has four locations in GTA. I will never ever spend my money there again.

Went there for the first time with Groupon. Waited 10 minutes before anyone even came to the table to offer us drinks and menus. Then all the dishes took SO LONG to come! Dinner ended up being an hour and 40 mins!! It's ridiculous. Food was not spectacular either. The tom yam soup was not spicy AT ALL and did not even taste like tom yam soup. The mango salad was bland, and the mangoes were sour. The beef tenderloins dish was decent (we waited 20 mins for it!). The mango sticky rice dessert was probably the only dish we really enjoyed. The tables around us were left uncleared of dirty dishes the entire time we were there. I would not go back again and would not recommend this restaurant.

we were greeted by a server who was using a rag and bottle of cleaner to wipe a table. then without washing his hands he handled our cutlery and plates. He continued this cycle again with our and other guests. He had a 2 day growth of beard and definitely conveyed an aura of unsanitary food handling that was disgusting. I will recommend that no one visit this establishment for these reasons. Thank-you for the opportunity to share this experience

Go a bit early so you can find the restaurant in the plaza.

food wasn't great at all. Groupon offer was not the same as what was received at the restaurant. It was just a total scam. I will not visit again and will not recommend to any other people

The waitress seemed to be really new. We ordered vegetable spring rolls, She mentioned that the drunken lobster was not available that night and my wife said that was OK because she is allergic to seafood. We had ordered vegetable spring rolls as part of our dinner and they brought us spring rolls with shrimp. My wife had already taken a bite and took a couple of swigs of Benadryl to prepare for her allergic reaction. The manager offered to compensate us with some Jasmine Tea. I don't like Jasmine Tea but he brought it anyways.....I would have taken a beer/wine instead if offered. Other than that, the food was good.

Not worth the value, What they give is clearly far from what the actual cost is. Ordering of the menu, I would have gotten a better deal. Waitress did a horrible job and made a point to complain about her day. Save your money. Clearly a money grab.

I think this deal is a total rip off. They had a limited offer of choices of the food, the deal says seven courses for two, I thought it should be each item for two, but we can pick one of any items PER TABLE. The food isn't even a value of $84 (regular price), or even the $39 groupon deal. The food and service was very terrible. This $39 deal is not of value, because if I did not use it, I would have paid less according to the menu. I am very angry that I had to pay more money for the food. I will not come back or would I recommend people to go there.

The lobster dish taste very good, but a bit oily. The Tom yum soup is ok but needs stronger flavour. Good service though.

From Our Editors

The menu at Five Asian Cuisine artfully melds cuisine from Thailand, Japan, China, and Vietnam. Meals begin with appetizers such as tempura, ricepaper rolls, or grilled skewers and progress on to piping hot soups, dim sum nibbles, or fried noodles. Main courses range from Thai curries and Japanese teriyakis to Cantonese chow mien and Szechuan string beans. Even the selection of rice offers palates a variety, including coconut sticky rice, jasmine rice, and fried rice, all of which can be thrown at nearby couples who you think recently tied the knot.
