A friend and I went in mid-October and even though it was chilly and cloudy, we had a blast! We laughed hysterically, but it didn't matter because we had the river to ourselves. A couple notes: the website makes it sound like you have a tour guide kayaking with you-this isn't the case unless you request that service; I highly recommend wearing rain boots or other high-shaft waterproof boots. The river was pretty shallow when we went, and neither of us had any kayaking experience, so we were inept when it came to spotting shallow area before we were right up on them. We got stuck many times and had to urge the kayaks along the best we could; if we'd had boots on, we could've just stepped out and pushed the kayak (the water was only a few inches, but it was cold enough that we didn't want wet feet). It also took us longer to get to the halfway point than anticipated--I think almost 3 hours, and we felt like 3 hours was plenty of time, so we called and got picked up at a point halfway: this is super convenient for anyone who's taking longer to go down the river or doesn't want to do the full 8 mile course. Anyway, all in all a beautiful, relaxing, fun day! I highly recommend this company!

Easiest way to Kayak. They take care of all your needs but the paddling. Make sure it's rained lately, the river can get low at times.

They we extremely nice to let me use my Groupon after the expiration date and worked with me on my time when something came up. It was a lovely trip down the river and my husband and I hope to go again next year. Take a picnic lunch or snack and water.

The business is operated by a husband and wife. We only met the wife and she was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I had asked about waterproof bags and she gave us some to use. The quality of the kayaks, oars, etc were a step above what we were use to getting at a rental business. She had told us before we got there that the water level was low and it was. However, you could tell at other times that the water can be much higher. The water was very clear. We spotted fish swimning and water birds. The waterway had a sand and rock bottom with very little debris in it. It is about a 7 mile trip and the waterway was very nice. It was all trees and shrub lined. We only saw about 10 houses on the whole trip. I would highly recommend it.

Great trip. We had a blast. You can stay dry for the most part but will get wet from the splash of the paddles.
