Illumination works in many ways at WIN’s 5K Glow Run. First all all, there's the participants themselves, who take to the running trail at dusk clad in neon and glow sticks, creating a kaleidoscopic parade of luminescence as they charge towards the finish line. But more importantly, this nighttime journey is designed to shed light upon domestic violence, with proceeds benefitting Women In Need's (WIN) mission to provide free services such as 24-hour crisis hotlines, counseling, and legal advocacy. The chip-timed race features a slew of awards—including prizes for top finishers and accolades for most creating use of glow sticks and neon—and concludes with a after-race glow party with raffle prizes.
