Joseph Cibelli sold a successful salon business in Chicago seven years ago and has now landed with his newest vision- Salon Blue Velvet in East Sacramento.Cibelli, named one of North America’s top 25 colorists by the North American Hairstyling Awards has created a vision of a salon space known for exceptional hair color, cuts, first-class customer service … and a sense of community.“The first thing I want people to experience when they walk into the salon is an overwhelming sense of welcome and connection,” says Cibelli. I want people to feel the power of connecting with themselves and with each other, and to experience the power.”Early in his career, Cibelli was an international platform artist with Joico where he performed his hair color magic on stage before thousands of people throughout Europe and the United States.During his years with Joico, Cibelli worked side-by-side with Tabatha Coffey who eventually landed her own Bravo Network television show called “Tabatha Takes Over.”Cibelli’s stage and performance work with Joico provided inspiration for him to open his first business in Chicago.
