Should've done some research prior to buying the Groupon. The salon is closing, so it was empty, which didn't bother me too much but my hairstylist smelled like alcohol. She talked a lot and I felt that she was just lying about things. As for the hair job I got balyage and a haircut. There are both just OK. Not the worst but not the best I've gotten either.

This was my 1st time here. people were very friendly, the service was great and I loved my stylist Rocco aka Rochelle. I would go back in a heart beat.

Shannon did an okay job. She seemed kind of annoyed to be there and wasn't super helpful. She didn't spend that much time massaging my head (although I said it's my fav part, I love getting a scalp massage, etc.). She also did a horrible job styling. She didn't even ask what I would like for a style and she ended up round brushing my hair into haphazard tight curls which I hate. And we were going out that night so I nicely asked if she could tweak it a bit to make it a little better. I threw my hair into a pony afterwards.

I had a coupon for a cut, balayage, and style. I was very excited to get my hair done at Ficocello's because I had read great reviews and had never had balayage before. When I arrived I waited patiently in the seating area. The stylist who fixed my hair walked in the salon nearly 10 minutes after my appointment was to begin so that was a tad annoying. His name was Anthony and he was a nice young guy who did a good job listening to me and cutting my hair. The balayage didn't turn out as good as I had hoped though :(. It wasn't bad, but the change wasn't very noticeable either so that was a bummer. He notified me that I needed toner and it would be $20 extra. I had already paid $80 for the coupon and so it was annoying that there would be a hidden charge that I was unaware of. He kept going on and on about how my hair would be yellow if I didn't get the toner and it wouldn't be very cute because no one wants that :P. So I got the toner and everything was fine up until I began getting hurt. He wasn't very gentle with my hair. I told him I didn't want frizzing because I already had enough of that, but he kept breaking strands as he ripped through my hair while working. He also jabbed me with the pointy part of the comb in my forehead, left the blow dryer on my ear for too long (multiple times) and it kept burning me, he washed my hair and as he was trying to get the last bit of conditioner out, he slammed the bottle down over and over on the counter behind me which was terribly loud and I don't think he realize that it was hurting my neck because everytime he pounded the bottle it was jolt my neck due to the counter being connected to the sink! Actually he didn't realize ANY of what he was doing the whole time and never even bothered to ask if the water was an okay temp or at any other time check on my comfort. That normally would be fine, but he was actually hurting me so it was frustrating. He then left me laying down in the water while he proceeded to leave me and get the toner ready. It took forever! I was annoyed, but trying not to let it bother me. When he finished with that we went back and as he continued to work on my hair at one point he had me stand up to cut my hair and then lay WAY back off of the back of the chair so my neck/head was dangling in mid air uncomfortably so he could cut better :/. I have a very bad neck so while at the time, it didn't bother me much (beside from very uncomfortable and slightly in pain) a few days later and I feel like I have whiplash :(. I am not very happy about it at all. It took 3 hours to complete my hair so when I was finished I needed to hurry home and pick up my son from school in time. As I went to pay I knew I would be paying for the toner, however I was charged $40! I asked why and she said that it would be an additional $20 for the color. I only got balayage and I thought the color WAS balayage. I didn't have anything added besides that and toner so I don't understand. I didn't have time to argue because I would be hitting traffic and needed to be home on time, but I was not very happy about paying an additional $40 plus tip for a good haircut, but balayage that was I guess okay :(, service that sucked, hidden fees, and a neck ache! I wish I had a better experience. I really wanted to love Ficocello's, but sadly, I will not be returning nor will I recommend this salon to anyone else.
