Bavaro's wood-fired brick oven may not literally be the center of the Italian eatery, but it is in spirit. Before opening Bavaro's, founder Dan Bavaro learned first-hand the techniques of Neapolitan-style pizza-making while traveling in Naples, and eventually imported over his own hand-crafted oven. With this, and Dan's ambition to craft authentic Italian pizza and pasta, Bavaro's was born.
Today at Bavaro's, Dan and his team of talented chefs craft from-scratch pizzas, like the margherita for which they construct a base of handmade dough before piling on San Marzano tomatoes and creamy mozzarella di bufala, drizzling it in olive oil once it emerges piping-hot from the oven. From the arugula to the prosciutto, the chefs assure that each Bavaro's pizza honors the brick oven's Italian heritage with high-quality, authentic ingredients imported straight from the motherland.
