Jim Wilcox had recently retired from a 30-year career as a university professor when he was diagnosed with cancer. This diagnosis inspired Jim and his wife, Ethel, to start a business where they could both provide a service and educate others about the importance of cancer research. Wasatch Baskets & Gifts started in 2000 as an operation based out of their home, but over the years, the outfit has grown to include a 10,000-square-foot production facility and numerous awards for community service. Wasatch Baskets & Gifts continues their mission, helping customers create custom gift sets for any occasion that include candies, stuffed animals, and other unique surprises. Customers can give back to the community by purchasing the Basket of Strength gift set as $5 from every sale are donated to the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
