It was a little difficult in the beginning trying to watch for the signs, traffic, people etc but once we got going it was a blast. I would suggest you keep track of your location on the map as well. We got off course once, pulled over and looked at the map, and were able to find our way back to the course easily. The suggested courses are set up to keep moving. We stopped for a few quick pics and to use the rest rooms and were able to get back in the two hours predicted. Would recommend this tour.

Kind of scary if you go during busy traffic times- but a fun way to see San Diego

We had a terrible and near-death experience with the go carts. We have been riding street motorcycles for over a decade and we found these cards to be far more dangerous. We were so distraught the owner offered to give us a full refund but for the fact that we had a groupon coupon. He said that we should ask groupon for a full refund and that it should be honored. Regardless of our particular incident these go carts are extremely dangerous. They stand only about 2 feet from the ground and thus aren't impossible for cars to see. Several cars nearly merged right into us or cut us off because we could not be seen in mirrors. There is no metal shell or even a rollbar to protect the occupants. The breaking is extremely difficult as requires all of your arm strength to make a complete stop. Moreover the acceleration is so slow it is difficult to merge and even to cross a yellow light in time. From a complete stop it takes about 3 to 4 seconds at full throttle just to begin to move which makes it nearly impossible to cross a blind intersection without an oncoming car nearly htting you And Our particular case a car signaled and made a lane change right in front of us and smooshed our mirror and pushed us nearly 10 feet before realizing that they had made contact with us. The car attempted to drive off until we harass them into pulling over. The driver admitted that she did not see us because she was legally blind in her left eye. Needed a driver more the purported the car had any valid insurance. We try to enjoy the audio tour after the accident but found the tour was largely outdated. the tour made references to restaurants in buildings that no longer existed . over one quarter of the tour became obsolete due to construction on the bridge moreover the cart itself was dirty sticky and unkept. The engine vibrations also made our lower extremities number for hours. The owner reacted all too casually about our troubles which make us think that many customers have had similar complaints and incidents

I loved the vehicle, easy to use but throttle was difficult getting up hills. The problem with my "tour" in San Diego was that there were NUMEROUS detours for construction on the way, GPS system does not get you back on track and only talks to you if you are able to stay on the tour route, and that can't be done with many detours. The car was fun, but the GPS was minimal at best. Lots of people took pictures of us and the kids loved seeing us scooting around. Anyone attempting (at least) the San Diego tour, should call ahead to make sure there won't be any detours!!! I had to cut the tour route short by half after getting lost and then had to head back to the office so they wouldn't charge me for over-time. Maybe I could have completed the tour (WISH I had!) without all the street problems. Someone at the office should keep patrons advised about problems like mine!!!

My daughter and I visited San Diego and did the GoCars tour, and the agents were so accommodating to us, from the man who registered us to the man who showed us how car worked and also the man who finished with us when tour was over. The cars have a GPS system in them and tell you where to drive and also tell you info on San Diego. Would highly recommend GoCars!!!!

The cars were really slow and 2 hours isn't enough time to get out and see anything. It was simply driving around the city past everything.

From Our Editors

Even before you climb inside, the GoCar is clearly a car with a personality. The petite, three-wheeled two-seater has a hood that slightly resembles an eager-to-please smiley face, and an open top that seems custom-made for letting the breeze ruffle your hair. Then the real fun begins: built with the company's own software and a compassion for the voiceless robots of America, a talking GPS system guides two-seater GoCars through the city streets of San Francisco, San Diego, Miami, Barcelona, Madrid, and Lisbon with cheerful, info-rich narration. Second only to having a knowledgeable local jog alongside your minivan, tours zip along at drivers' own pace and accommodate as many pit stops as time allows.
