Five Things to Know About Sugar Cafe
Sugar Cafe has a split personality, and that’s a big part of what makes it so cool. This popular spot’s ambiance and menu change completely depending on what time of day you visit. Here are a few more tips to help you navigate this enigmatic eatery:
It’s a café by day. Throughout the morning and early afternoon, sunlight floods through the front windows as guests indulge in house-roasted coffees, breakfast pastries, and seasonal sandwiches and salads.
It’s a lounge by night. Once evening arrives, Sugar Cafe transitions into a hip lounge. Though there’s no giant red button that someone presses to make this happen, you can tell the transformation’s complete when servers start doling out savory small plates, glasses of wine, and inventive cocktails.
The decor is striking. A nine-foot-wide fireplace is the café’s centerpiece, but the high ceilings, leather couches, and granite bars and columns are eye-catchers, as well. Despite its ultramodern appearance, the space retains a cozy vibe thanks, in part, to a friendly staff.
There are three distinct spaces. You can even rent them out for private parties.
Free WiFi is available.
