We felt like this was a glorified flee market. We thought there would be alot more ye Olde shops and old fashioned caroling and plays going on. We were sorely disappointed!

I used to go to the Dickens Festival every year. This year seemed so commercial. Too many vendors and not enough culture. The layout was confusing and crowded and made it hard to get around. Very sad to say that I will not be returning.

very little Christmas decorations or merchandise. could have been "what women want" fair. The costumes were cute but I spent less money than I have in the last 10 years. Will have to consider if we want to invest the time next year. Also, only 1 food booth. We had to leave the show to get lunch. Not very good planning on keeping kids happy and people in the facility as long as possible.

The festival was well done. For the most part it was enjoyable. We made several purchases, but one vendor actually lied about the product, gave us a website to contact, and the website is bogus. We can't exchange the product for the right size. That is aggravating. Otherwise, nice job. PS: We couldn't find anywhere to get a drink. ?

Why are you charging me money to just shop? I can go to the mall for free. You gave me nothing in return for my entrance fee.

From Our Editors

"What's to-day, my fine fellow?" said Scrooge.
"To-day!" replied the boy. “Why, Christmas Day."

In these famous lines from A Christmas Carol, Scrooge might've been asking the wrong question. He should've asked, "What's this weekend?" And the boy's reply: "Why, 1893 all over again."

For three days in December, the Dickens Christmas Festival brings to life the sights, sounds, and experiences of 19th-century London. Visitors are free to stroll up and down the festival's narrow village streets while browsing the unique gifts and keepsakes of participating vendors. Actors in period costumes will enliven the festival even further, with fortune tellers, orphans, and royalty mixing in amongst the crowd and olde English shops. Of course, the festival's namesake is well represented, too. Fagin, Scrooge, and other characters from Dickens stories roam the streets, and mini productions of tales such as Oliver Twist unfold on multiple stages. Father Christmas also spends the entire day listening to children wish for presents such as the electric hoop-and-sticks that are all the rage right now.
