After years of performing traditional Swedish and deep-tissue massage, therapist Ron Reach became intrigued by the practice of myofascial release, eventually studying under a world-renowned master of the technique, John Barnes. He studied under Barnes for four years, learning everything from how to relieve nerves from intense pressure to which color apples Barnes preferred. Ron also learned that each muscle fiber is surrounded by fascia, a protective connective tissue that is manipulated by a trained myofascial-release specialist in order to treat stress, chronic pain, injury, and illness.
Now at his own practice, Northside Myofascial-Release, Ron applies targeted pressure to these connective tissues. This helps assuage a wide range of maladies, such as work-related stiffness, sports injuries, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and bursitis.
