On the last Saturday of August, the sixth annual Santa Barbara Tequila Harvest Festival unfolds across the grassy hilltop of Elings Park. There, you can taste more than 50 tequilas and mezcales, all while listening to live mariachi music and munching on gourmet appetizers doled out by local chefs. Established in 2010, this festival remains the flagship event for Agave Avenue, an event-organizing company that specializes in showcasing agave-based spirits and products. The festival also raises proceeds for its host, Elings Park, with a silent auction, in which guests must write down their bids or convey the amount they're willing to pay with their eyes.
