Italian Festival of Arizona
It was what I expected overall. They should tell you to bring your own chairs or supply some more. We should have known that as almost all concerts in the Civic Center require that you bring your own chairs or sit on the lawn. Nice variety of food. I found my sausage and peppers which was what I was looking for at a reasonable price.
The Italian Festival is entertaining with amazing food jovial people. I will be attending every year!!
The food was good, but the prices were inconsistent. Some stuff was a good deal, others a rip off. There as no shade for the entertainment. We had to see behind the stage to get shade, so the acoustics were terrible. Overall, we had a better time with the Irish.
You have to use street parking. Sunday was not that crowded, lines not too long at stands. Not a very big festival. Nice variety of food items but a little too expensive. Tickets for drinks were $1 each. A can of pop was 3 tickets ($3), that's way too expensive.
Liked listening to the music and looking at all the items for sale at the craft tents.
There were some activities for kids too.
Expected more there was to do eat. Not my thing
The food was good, but expensive for what you got. Music was great! Disappointed that the flag wavers weren’t there.
Was too expensive for food, long lines, not enough seating, and music needed some pep. Need upbeat music!!
Food was a little expensive. We liked the Italian music
Too big, too many food vendors, long lines, we had to stand up to eat. We were there at 12:30 and the vendor we used was out of some of his food choices. I had to make a second choice, then served the wrong order and the vendor was very upset with me because his server read the ticket wrong, after he verified what I actually ordered.
The girl at the entrance was RUDE, acted like I was trying to "sneak in" with two older ladies with me, one with a walker because the WiFi was not working and she couldn't pull up my tickets ($27.00) that I purchased on Groupon, on my phone...after a big scene, she finally was able to see I had purchased the 3 tickets, gave us our three blue tickets and let us in. I was able to pull up the Groupon receipt for the three tickets when I got home.
Confusion having two events in the same area. The Scottsdale Trolley dropped us off near the usual weekly event thinking it was the Italian event. Was not marked clearly on the street for public to choose which event they wanted.
A few years ago, the Italian American Club had an Italian Day, showed all Italian manufactured old and new cars, dinner was in their club house for under $10 a full 3 course meal with soft beverage, live entertainment, no entrance fee. It was super...too bad this didn't measure up to that one. And the food was great! People were friendly.
The three of us said "never again" to this one!!!
