About this Business

Given The Standard Kitchen & Cocktails's focus on healthy, seasonal comfort foods, you'd expect its burger to be something special. And it is: the patty consists of house-ground Angus beef and beef brisket, and it arrives topped with bacon and aged cheddar. But meat isn't the restaurant's only area of expertise. In fact, its greatest strength might lie in its inclusivity, which means that vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free diners will find plenty to crave as well. The signature veggie burger, for example, is made with eggplant, roasted tomato, and a quinoa-and-saffron-rice patty, rather than just a head of cabbage stuffed into a bun.
While the menu welcomes guests with everything from sirloin enchiladas to vegan bibimbap rice bowls, the location welcomes them with homey furnishings, fresh flowers, and pieces by local artists. The long couches and plush chairs on the outdoor patio offer al fresco decor when the weather plays nice. At the bar, mixologists craft cocktails with The Standard's just-squeezed juices, and brew sangria with white wine and jasmine green tea. But if diners don't have time to linger, the Market Side can prep them bites to go—it specializes in takeaway meals and large platters for parties.
