Roosevelt Barber Shop is a small, no-nonsense haircut spot with checkered floors, bright lights and wooden benches. The old-school shop gained some serious Seattle street cred in 2012 when its owners refused service to a local who praised the relocation of the Seattle SuperSonics basketball team to Oklahoma City. Roosevelt’s gesture resonated with fiery sports fans in the area, and the barbershop’s name is now much more widely known as a result. Thankfully, their dedication doesn’t stop at Seattle sports teams; on-hand barbers are committed to providing haircuts, line ups, beard trims and straight razor shaves, each available only on a walk-in-basis. There’s also “The Roosevelt” deluxe package – a haircut and a hot lather shave, provided by appointment only. Just don’t say the words “Oklahoma City Thunder” while the clippers are out.
