sunscreen. the lines are long for samples, be prepared to wait. I think the event would benefit from some sort of line management system or possibly forgoing with the sample glasses and simply provide small dixie cups pre-filled for speed of delivery.

It's small in size, but, very good atmosphere and good size of free samples!

Decent amount of breweries and wineries, but they're mostly crammed into tight spaces, so it takes a while to navigate around, and the lines can be pretty long.

Of course it was a very hot day nothing can be done about that. Maybe some areas under cover, tents, just to get out of the heat or some water misters. Just having it for one day makes for a very crowded event. Possibly making it a 2 or 3 day event.

So many beer and wine samples you won't have to actually buy anything, unless you want something non alcoholic. Plenty of food and craft vendors as well. Live music but no seating, so bring a chair if you want to sit and watch the band.

Get there early because the lines to taste get ridiculously long.

From Our Editors

Since its first event in 2008, the Chesapeake Bay Wine Festival has steadily added to its multisensory feast of libations, food, and live sounds. Originally conceived to highlight Maryland's wines, beers, and local delicacies, the festival now brings wines from around the world to its bayside location. White tents shield tasters from rain, sunburn, and any curious fish who might try to leap into their goblets. Each year, the festival benefits an array of community- and family-focused organizations.
