You won't find the typical rows of treadmills and weight machines inside CrossFit 222. Instead, the gym's space is filled with the likes of medicine balls, pull-up bars, and a team of expert trainers dedicated to a common goal: helping people make dramatic changes in their lives. Their ever-changing workouts of the day (or WOD) draw on several different fitness disciplines—such as gymnastics, Olympic weight-lifting, rowing, and keeping jumpropes from getting tangled on the floor. The team dedicates the entire schedule to CrossFit—starting with the introductory Foundations class—and each session fosters a sense of community support, with everyone sweating together towards their individual and collective goals.
