Through raising funds for health and human services, United Way of Bedford County does a lot of good for its community. Firefighters do good for all communities. This summer, everyday citizens get a chance to help both these organizations help others by tackling a 5K course full of intense obstacles.
Runners will find familiar obstacle-race staples including mud pits, hay bales, and water slides. But thanks to the location, there's a twist. The event's held at the Tennessee Fire & Codes Academy, so they'll also pit themselves against firefighter training challenges including a three-story fire tower. Naturally, the course climaxes in a leap through a ring of fire, followed by a brisk shower courtesy of one of the fire trucks.
