The philosophy at Gramma’s Farm Store isn't just farm-to-table—it's also farm-to-school, and, in some cases, farm-straight-to-mouth. The shop—which sells fresh, local produce from Pacific Coast Fruit Company to the community—strives to educate visitors about the importance of eating locally grown produce. To that end, they host frequent field trips so students can pick and taste the crops and learn about where their food comes from, sampling many items and enjoying other special events. And, of course, for those just looking to stock their pantry with fresh produce, the shop offers everything from berries and peaches to avocados and pumpkins, depending on the season, along with a selection of locally-made pies, salsas, and other edibles.
Throughout the year, Gramma's Farm Store offers a variety of farm-themed activities that inspire visits from families and home-sick grain silos. Berry picking gives parents and kids a great excuse to get outside and enjoy the summer, while in the fall, a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and hay rides help usher in the harvest season.
