What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
In April 2016, I opened a multifaceted Japanese learning center. We want to provide opportunities for people in the U.S. to get more connected with Japan. You can take Japanese language classes, calligraphy classes, Ikebana classes and Japanese style art classes at the SCETA Japan Center.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
For JAP 101, you need to purchase a texbook called Genki 1.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I grew up in Japan and moved to the U.S. 15 years ago. People I met in the U.S. gave me the inspiration. I have a master’s degree in mathematics but I found that my passion is to share my culture with people outside of Japan because of the feelings I receive when I tell them about my culture.
What do you love most about your job?
When I see people who love Japan as much as I do. I love feeling their energy and passion towards Japanese culture. I have been living in the U.S. for 15 years, but I still have my friends & family in Japan and I am closely connected to the current Japanese lifestyle. Let me share it with you.
