Lorenz Studio said you can make 2 - 3 pieces. The helper ruined my first and second piece and the third piece turned out all right. The first piece was made into a sculpture instead of a vase. I thought it would be all right. When the owner saw that the assistant let me select a metallic for my first piece he was angry and would not let me choose that metallic again. We made the second piece without the metallic and it was supposed to be a second try at a vase. This one also did not turn out. They made it into a paperweight. The third piece, with the help of the owner, was finally a vase. I had three pieces--> 2 that did not turn out and the third was a small vase. I went the next night to pick-up ( an hour drive each way). They left the pieces for me to pick-up .... But, here is the disappointing part --> they did not give me the first piece I made - only the paperweight and the vase. I was not thrilled paying to take the class to make a paperweight. i got totally ripped off and would not recommend this studio. I also feel that they took my first piece to sell - this is the piece that ended up as a sculpture. I should have reported this sooner and asked for a refund.

From Our Editors

Metal and glass. Lorenz Livolsi saw those two materials as separate mediums when he opened his studio in 1978. But a spark of inspiration struck him at some point—perhaps figurative, perhaps literal—while the artist was blowing a glass vase or welding a a new doorway after forgetting his keys. After opening the studio, the artist made a decision that forever changed his career: he brought the two materials together. This opened up an entire new world for Lorenz Studios, and it led to a long resume, including well-known clients such as Bloomingdales.

Now with a full staff of skilled artisans, Lorenz Studios creates original works of glass and metal—from archways, to staircases, to tables, to countless other creations. They also share their decades of experience with others during classes in hand-blown glass and metal sculpture.
