I had an expired Groupon. The amount I paid was $13.00. When I first went to the counter, I was told I would only be granted $8.95 off the admission price. Later, I went back to dispute this & I was told that because Stone Zoo had lowered their prices even lower then the Groupon rate, that I couldn't get the full $13.00 honored as it states in the Fine Print of Groupon. I was told that the prices were lowered due to their construction projects. Eventually, the Supervisor did grant me an additional refund, but this was the only vendor I have ever used with Groupon that tried to justify them not honoring the full promotional value of the Groupon. I am not sure if I will go back to this zoo.

The Franklin Park zoo was great. I was impressed with the Halloween event and the activities and entertainment for children. The exhibits were great. I can't wait to go back in the spring.

I thought it was a nice, convenient zoo for someone traveling with children and the parking was surprisingly close to the zoo.

The Groupon allowed me to skip the long line of people waiting to pay and enter. I was thrilled to be pre-paid as it expedited our entrance.

The event was very well run, but clearly very popular. The line for tickets was very long. They were very nice and took us with our Groupon outside of the line, but I felt bad for all of the people waiting for tickets...hope next year they can get more staff for the event, or offer online tickets for everyone on their site (even if no discount!).

They don't treat the animals well. Just a few animals has a good space to play. Dirty and really bad condition!

From Our Editors

Thanks to Zoo New England, little patches of wilderness from Africa, South America, Australia, and other parts of the world now dot Massachusetts. The non-profit organization operates both Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo, each full of exotic creatures and their habitats. These microcosms represent an ideal world, one where endangered species thrive and fragile ecosystems last for generations to come.

At Franklin Park Zoo, tigers display their exotic stripes in the Tiger Tales exhibit where guests are educated on the perils these animals face in their natural habitats. Inside the Tropical Forest signature pavilion discover gorillas, ring-tailed lemurs, or giant anteater, free-flight birds and more.

Stone Zoo, meanwhile, places simulations of the world's highlands next to Spot Pond. One area focuses on the Sierra Madre mountain range, which spans Mexico and the Southwestern U.S. The elevated habitat counts jaguars, coyotes, Gila monsters, and cougars among its denizens.

A portion of every admission goes to the organization's conservation efforts, which supports projects both locally and globally. For would-be zookeepers, Zoo New England hosts various adult and kids' educational programs, and lets volunteers help in the care of zoo plants and animals.
