In 1984, 20-year-old Swiss entrepreneur Thomas Meyer founded Desigual to promote the idea of fun, affordable clothing that expresses a vibrant positivity. Beginning in its glitzy flagship store in Ibiza to its current headquarters in Barcelona, the company has become an empire with 300 colorful, light-filled boutiques in 72 countries throughout the globe, with a multicultural workforce of more than 2,900 enthusiastic clothing experts. Each store’s labyrinth of styles includes printed tees, sharp men’s jackets, flattering dresses, hoodies, and inventive kids’ wear.
Flashy belts, handbags, jewelry, and wallets top off ensembles, complementing clothing from lines such as Cirque du Soleil and Desigual by L. In addition to innovating examples of quirky, trendsetting clothing, Desigual shows off its youthful vibrancy through atypical marketing campaigns built around artwork, live music, parties, and online solitaire matches.
