I had a Groupon for this restaurant for oysters and drinks; since I love oysters on the half shell, I was quick to jump on this deal. Even though the cost of the Groupon was about what I'd pay at my local oyster bar, I figured these particular oysters must be fantastic judging by the regular menu price. Additionally, there were some really enticing appetizers and entrées offered, so I thought Catch 23 would be an excellent date experience. Not so. First off, we were the second couple to be seated once the doors were unlocked, pleasantly greeted by both the host and our server. We expected the rest of our dinner to be just as pleasant, especially since our immediate needs were simple : oysters and a cocktail. However, upon advising our server we had a Groupon, it appeared that only that basic service was required. We got no water, and not sure if this place has bread because we weren't offered any. Instead, the drinks we ordered were on the watery side (and the wine glass my margarita was served was off putting to say the least ). The oysters appeared to be very fresh albeit totally bland, and required a significant amount of doctoring with sea salt, Cholula, lemon, and horseradish. That rendered them palatable, but sort of defeated the purpose of raw oysters. To top it off, the crackers were even stale. The appetizers we ordered were a total fail: calamari was tasteless and arrived on a plain white plate (no garnish or presentation whatsoever ), and the grouper tacos were cold, had an abundance of cardboard like shredded cabbage and two shrimpy, skimpy little chunks of grouper in raw corn tortillas. Verdict : the appetizers were unappetizing. I'm so glad we didn't venture out into the entrées! We drove 45 minutes in each direction for what was an anticipated dining experience only to be sorely disappointed. Catch Twenty Three is not on our repeat list and receives no recommendation.

Very cute! Great service! Nice portion size and good presentation! Raw Oysters were not fresh. Need better horseradish, cocktail sauce! I'd definitely try it again.
