Ragtops Day Spa & Salon’s trio of co-owners—Terry Braaten, Ginger Braaten, and Jeanne Dankerl—have an aesthetic sense honed by more than 80 years of collective experience and training from the likes of Vidal Sassoon, Koleston, and Redken. To pamper and beautify guests, they let their combined skill loose within a 4,100-square-foot hybrid salon and day spa. Yet to ensure that Ragtops Day Spa & Salon is an all-encompassing retreat, they keep an extended community of skilled, self-employed stylists and aestheticians within—most of which have been shearing locks or painting nails for more than two decades.
Raw talent isn’t the only thing that elevates Ragtops’ services. Hairstylists sharpen their tress transformations with products from brands such as Paul Mitchell and Redken, and Ginger relies on Coppola keratin treatments to straighten and relax hair that’s been stressed since hearing a tall tale about sentient clippers. Nail artists, meanwhile, draw from a palette of OPI polishes and CND acrylics and enhance pedicures with paraffin treatments. Although services vary according to the current staff, skincare experts cleanse pores with European facials and tackle more problematic skin with microdermabrasion, glycolic facials, and oxygen facials, and massage therapists banish aches with acupressure, Swedish, and Thai massages.
