The steady hum of sewing machines emanates throughout Mrs. Taylor’s Sewing School, where students as young as six patch together skills in the craft. Throughout the week, the school’s flexible curriculum addresses different age-appropriate topics. Some adult classes, for instance, focus on the basics for beginners, and others have students stitch entire outfits from top to bottom.
Although children and teens are welcome to participate in adult sessions, the school makes sure to offer classes geared toward youthful interests. Kids can practice fundamental techniques while crafting pillowcases, and teens can do the same while assembling summer dresses to wear at parties or masks to wear when out in public with an embarrassing parent.
