Boston Avenue Salon owner Pamela Fodor uses chemistry and science every day, but after 21 years as a professional cosmetologist and 4 years as a teacher, she has turned science into an art. “If I could do one service all day, every day, it would be women’s cuts and highlighting services. I take pride in hitting the baby-blonde lites every time with no toner,” she says. She honed her skills treating the hair of more than 200 brides and thousands more prom-goers. One client even flew Pamela out to Hawaii to ensure she was on-hand to style hair on the wedding day.
Pamela pairs her services with those of her staff, who invite clients to sip on complimentary coffee, tea, water, beer, or wine while enjoying a bit of well-earned beautifying and pampering. The decor echoes the duo’s classic sense of style with a combination of black and white elements accented by glass furnishings. The walls sport images of equally classic beauty, such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and the Rat Pack, a bunch of rats who accidentally tied themselves together by the tail and wound up resembling Cary Grant’s profile.
