Dr. Rebecca Ward, a clinical-nutrition professor at Tulsa Community College, approaches weight loss with the mindset of an educator. Although she facilitates weight loss with methods such as hormone therapy, detoxification, and chiropractic services, she focuses on teaching clients all aspects of nutrition and health. Under her tutelage, clients learn to interpret the carbs, fats, and sugars listed on nutrition labels and all grocery-store employees. They also learn how hormones and the adrenal system impact the body’s ability to use stored energy. To complement these lessons, Dr. Ward and her team lead fitness workshops that show clients how exercise can slenderize their frames by boosting metabolism and energy.
