As a child in Italy, Chef Claudio Ranallo learned to cook alongside his father; as a student in Sorrento he cooked alongside his peers at culinary arts school, and as a member of the Italian army he cooked for many of his generals. His cooking traditions and Italian roots are the foundation of every dish at La Piazza Dario, which opened in 1977 and was recently named one of OpenTable?s Diners? Choice Winners for Italian food in 2011. The menu includes an array of artistically plated Italian eats, such as handmade gnocchi in rose sauce, venison in wild berry sauce, and prawns and scallops in lemony white-wine sauce.
