I bought the Groupon but haven't been able to use it due to the schedule. If there was a class starting between noon and 2:00 a couple days a week that would really help.

They preach that this is the way and the truth as a religion not what it is an exercise surrounded inside of heat.

I had been to bikram yoga in another, newer Vancouver studio on a Groupon special prior to my Fire Mountain experience. Fire Mountain is definitely an older facility which could be fine, but it did not seem clean or particularly well taken care of. The lobby didn't seem swept and the odor is really strong. The studio apparently has ants (a female instructor was putting out ant traps prior to class) and the ceiling panels look stained from the heating system, which didn't look safe. My first class was with a male instructor who didn't really explain the poses, but primarily relied on us watching students who had taken the class before to figure out the poses. He talked non-stop, trying to tell jokes and other irrelevant information. Based on my previous experience, where it was way too serious and rigid, I did appreciate his more relaxed style and attempt at humanity, but I would have rather he talked more about the poses and their benefits. My second class was with a woman, who was rather rude at the front desk, but then when she entered the studio to teach, she had a very calm, peaceful presence. I really enjoyed her style of teaching and her constant cues to assess how are body was feeling and suggestions for adjustments. She also provided useful information about the body and the poses. I definitely would not recommend this place to a first time bikram yoga student. If you had some experience before and don't mind the questionable cleanliness and safety of the facility, it is a fine, affordable place to practice.
