Bundle up!! It's was actually colder inside than outside the day we went. (It was 34 degrees outside) It was a great time, the kids loved skating and it wasn't overly packed. (Saturday afternoon)

The music was really good (and current), but it is chilly inside so bring a coat, hat and mittens.

My girls love going to Iceland. We took all the cousins last time. It was at Christmas time, so it was a little crowded, but we had a great time. If you want to skate the full public session time, go a little early, since getting skates laced up and coats/gloves on can take awhile.

Make sure to dress warm. Plenty of "walkers" for the kids to use.

Very nice ice rink with a DJ playing current music. It is chilly inside, so you should bring hats, gloves and a comfortable jacket until you get warmed up. Plenty of the child and adult skating frames to give confidence to those who are still learning to skate.

From Our Editors

A row of flags hangs in solidarity from the rafters above an indoor ice rink, uniting Canada, the USA, and Sweden in the one passion that they all have in common: hockey. Iceland of Hampton Roads fosters this love of icy sports in skaters of all ages and experience levels via youth hockey leagues, synchronized skating classes, and lessons, in which instructors introduce students as young as age 3 to their reflections in the ice. Adults compete in 10- or 20-game seasons in hockey leagues utilizing USA Hockey rules—and kids' hockey leagues consist of games, practices, power skating, and skills. During synchronized skating classes, teams of 8 to 20 skaters choreograph complex skating formations, such as the parallel pinwheel—in which lines of skaters rotate in unison—or the flying V—which they use to head south for the winter.
