Qualia Coffee's brews are fresh off the roast—literally. The full-service coffee shop is also home to small-batch roaster Fresh Off the Roast, which first made its mark selling beans at local farmer's markets. That close proximity means every cup of coffee can be enjoyed at peak freshness; Qualia is so concerned with freshness, in fact, that it won't sell any beans after three days of roasting. For those who have trouble choosing between the shop's slew of varieties, including Nicaragua Java and Colombia Antioquia, the coffee-savvy staff is happy to answer burning questions such as how each coffee tastes, where it came from, and what it likes to do in its spare time. Customers can enjoy their brew—paired with a bagel or pastry supplied by local bakers—out on the coffeehouse's front porch or backyard.
