It was too much of a modern culture, funky cartoonish setting. Not what I was looking for at all. Decent prices on the teas & coordinating merchandise, but too many irrelevant vendors. Signage for finding the building was poor. Very difficult to know where to park & which building & definitely difficult to find the event within the building.

The Tea Festival did not offer much. I felt that I paid to shop. Some tea samples were offered but the cups were tiny that samples at the grocery store are bigger and free. I paid an additional cosr to listen and sample teas. Again the cups were tiny.

It was not what groupon advertised. There was no tea with fingerfoods and the children activities had nothing to do with tea.

A lot of fun. Next year we may try the Mad Hatters Party. Looked like a great event.

There was a wide variety of vendors. Lots of things to see and taste. The food trucks made it even more fun! We had a great time!!!

Not enough vendors to make the fee worth it; especially not enough tea vendors.

From Our Editors

Alice in Wonderland—it's the perfect theme for a tea festival, particularly one like The Houston Tea Festival, where a few unconventional events coincide with more traditional ones. In addition to tea tastings, workshops, talks, and children's activities the festival hosts over 50 vendors and a movie screening and a Mad Hatter Tea murder mystery event. And the elegant three-course afternoon tea mixes finger foods and harp music with a Lolita fashion show. This fashion subculture is known for blending Victorian and modern styles—think Little Bo Peep meets harajuku—characterized by frilly knee socks and petticoats stacked under short dresses.
