What You'll Get
Famed -- or infamous -- for plays taking on prickly topics with dark humor and controversial characters, Tony-nominated playwright and screenwriter Neil LaBute (In the Company of Men, Fat Pig, Billions, Van Helsing) seems poised to explore yet more subjects in his signature style in three new one-acts at the Davenport in New York. In The Fourth Reich, a public speaker shares his "unique views" on the past, the future and art. Brenda Meaney (Hell on Wheels) stars in Great Negro Works of Art, which finds a gallery manager and under-celebrated artist going at it on race, culture and more. And in Unlikely Japan, a young woman sees an old flame on TV, spurring a memory of a fateful choice that affected multiple lives.
There’s no intermission.
