We visited New York and purchased our tickets in Times Square for a 2 day trip of bus tours, Liberty cruise, night bus tour, and 1 hr bike rental in Central Park. Must say this was an incredible deal and Conrad and Lisette our bus guides were the best. Lisette was a very safe bus driver ensuring the safety of her passengers and Conrad was a nice guide. Great deal for the price.

It was really a amazing journey. Pam is a nice person and a good tourist guide. She is a food expert. We met in front of veselka a restaurant which has been serving up traditional Ukrainian food since 1954. I tried Pierogi and a special borsch containing beets. Pierogi is ukrainian style dumplings. Mixing Pierogi with apple sauce or sautéed onion really pleased me. Then we went to a meat market close by. The shop keeper showed us the process of making Ham. I can see clearly from outside that they hang the hams on a big brandrith orderly and put it into a big oven. I was told that this process takes about a couple of hours. I was also shocked by the super huge hams presented in the refrigerator. It might be the biggest hams I've ever seen before. I sampled several piece of pork sausage, It was awesome!!!!!!! I would never forget this ukrainian style meat market. East village is old fashioned and full of history. Not like other commercial place in manhattan, East village is a place that can brings you different sensory experiences and help you know better about real new york. Full of all kinds of Mom and PoP stores that is seldom explored by international travelers, East village is really worth visiting. On the St Mark street, there is a small Indian Restaurant that serves up authentic indian food. I tried falafel with chickpea inside and a cup of lemonade mint juice. The juice was very helpful especially when I found the sauce for falafel was extremely spicy. I am a sweetaholic, So Pam took me to " homemade kosher - moisher's bake" store. They bake bread, rolls, danishes, muffins and pastries. OMG, it makes my mouth water. Pam recommend me try Prune Ham which is shaped like a triangle with raspberry inside. I was full at that time, or else I would try more dessert. Next and Last station is quite bit far. Since Pam highly recommend this place and plus walking after eating a lot might be helpful for digestion, We walked all the way from St Mark to Alphabet city. During the walk, Pam talked a lot about the history of east village and told me which place to eat. We really had fun even though that day was kind of freezing. Here we came , "wafels & dinges cafe" , I ordered wafels with banana and netella. It looks cute and awesome. At the sight of the delicacies, I started drooling again:) Amazing Journey with Pam, I learned a lot in this tour. Hope I can Join another tour next time….. Just give you guys a reminder: Come with an empty stomach !!! Enjoy!

I totally agree with the last review. This was the most relaxing and enjoyable walking tour ever. The gardens were wonderful. I was deeply impressed by the New York Marble Cemetery, a place I had never heard of before. Yes, there was a lot of walking. But since we had a lunch break at the Meatball place, where the group had the chance to get to know each other, it was doable. And I also appreciated the fact that we were not constantly bombarded with useless information. Some tour guides take a lot of pride in telling you everything they ever read or heard of. So in the end you're just overwhelmed by too much information. Pam gave us time to really enjoy the gardens. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

From Our Editors

New 2 NY Tours' guides treat each outing as an opportunity to explore the personal, human factors—the small businesses, the local residents, the weekly hopscotch tournaments—that currently shape the city's dynamic culture, and a way to make new friends. As founder Pamela Fisher told DNAinfo, "I've lived in New York City all my life and I learn something new every day." Tours provide an in-depth look at the history behind New York's most famous neighborhoods and the hidden gems within those communities. Over the course of one to three hours, groups can explore sights such as the parks and townhouses of the West Village, the artisan bakers and chocolatiers on the Lower East Side, or the trendy cafes and galleries of the East Village.
