The gelato at Jenny and Frank's may be inspired by the sweet dessert served in Rome, but the treats themselves are all-American. That's because owners Marianne and Tom Cozzolino—the shop is named for Tom's Italian grandparents—take care to use fresh, local dairy, eggs, fruits, and herbs in every batch.
The flavors are always changing, but can include such tempting creations as cinnamon honey, coconut cream, and banana with Nutella, as well as seasonal selections such as pumpkin and blueberry basil sorbetto. In addition to serving up fresh scoops and pints of their handmade gelato, the family also folds it into gelato cakes that feature layers of crushed housemade biscotti and a topping of fresh whipped cream.
