There's a tinkling in the winter air, one that signifies both the coming of the holiday season and the charitable spirit that goes with it. The sound emanates from the runners and walkers of the Jingle Bell Run/Walk. During this annual 5K, racers adorn themselves with festive jingle bells and holiday-themed costumes, showing their winter spirit while raising money for arthritis care and research.
After completing the course, racers settle in for a winter's revel at the jolly closing ceremonies. A special note for youngsters: there's even a rumor that Santa himself might show up to take in the spectacle and shed some pounds before eating millions of cookies on Christmas Eve.
