Philip and Mark Shenk turned the 120-acre farm they grew up on into a kid-friendly smorgasbord of classic farm life mixed with fun, updated touches. There’s a big red barn built in the nineteenth century, but there are also explosively messy pumpkin drops. A peaceful pick-your-own pumpkin patch sits alongside the squeals and cheers of pig races. This mix of high-energy and relaxing activities makes Wayside Farm Fun a great bet for kids and families.
The 10-acre corn maze is the star of the show. Intricately designed around a kid-friendly theme of quarterback Kirk Cousins, the maze is a satisfying challenge for kids and adults. There’s more to Wayside than just getting lost in the corn, though. Kids and adults alike can race through a play lot or take a turn on a giant combine slide, or marvel at goats navigating a precarious “goat walk” that’s 20 feet in the air.
