Be very specific about how spicy you want your food. I asked for "wimpy" butter chicken this time and it was still a tad too spicy. My spouse asked for "nice and spicy" chicken vindaloos and found his wasn't spicy enough. The server did offer to correct this after we received our dish. Next time we will communicate more precisely. (ie instead of wimpy I will say a 0 on the spice level)

If you haven't try Clay Oven before this is your chance. It's a bit different but very tasteful. Can't wait for groupon to feature another coupon

we got several dishes to share. the servings are quite small but somehow they seemed to be enough. we were slow to be served, but once we ordered the food came very quickly. there seemed to be a fair bit of backgroung noise so it was hard to hear each other. I would go back.

It takes about 2-3 hours to paint the pottery so make sure you come early enough. Staff is friendly and helpful at this location

No, except to go with a good appetite and be adventurous--ask questions if you don't know what the menu items are--and try something totally different; you might be pleasantly surprised!

From Our Editors

The culinary team at Clay Oven grills up delicacies ranging from fresh naan to salmon and halal goat baked in the tandoor—the traditional clay oven from which the eatery takes its name. As the chefs work, they avoid any use of peanuts and trans fats, but that doesn't limit their menu in the slightest. Their dishes run the gamut of Indian cuisine, satisfying appetites with plates such as zesty lemon chili prawns, lamb curry, and chicken tikka masala. Their Thali platters, meanwhile, embrace Southern Indian tradition, and feature a little bit of everything—vegetables, chicken, goat, and chutney, along with a small dessert.
