Under the able leadership of new management and an inventive new chef, The Loft Gastropub entrances taste buds with delicate seafood dishes and bold interpretations of familiar pub standbys. Hearty burgers deliver 8 ounces of wholesome local grass-fed beef, vegan patties of chickpea and Indian spices, or cutlets of tender chicken grilled by blowtorch and topped with an edible solder of cheddar and jalapeno. As diners enthrone themselves upon luxurious, high-backed black leather chairs at marble-top tables, they eagerly divvy up tapas of hummus and lightly breaded calamari or share bowls of mussels stewed in potent broths of vermouth or white wine. Hand-tossed pizza discs take flight in the kitchen, awaiting payloads of pesto, eggplant, capicolla, and bacon, while guests sip cocktails at the bar or feast upon main courses of braised ribs, pescatore, and strip steak.
